This is interesting. I thought you might've taken the just-in-case (redundancy) versus just-in-time (optimization) angle. Those appear to be two competing forces, just like antifragility and fragility. They are related through risk. You have the more psychological take, which I think is fair as well.
+1 those lenses are also somewhat applicable. Redundancy in learning creates depth (e.g. same books hit differently) and optimisation in learning creates impact (immediate use).
